People have difficulty logging in to DigiD on Monday. Via the website allestoringen.nl, the number of reports about DigiD has risen to more than 3,500 since approximately 11 a.m. A spokeswoman for Logius, the DigiD administrator, confirms that there is a malfunction.
People say they cannot log in. Users of the app receive a message stating that it is temporarily unavailable. Users also see an error message when logging in via the website.
The spokeswoman says that they are investigating what exactly is going on, but that it is not a DDoS attack. In such an attack, so much internet traffic is sent to a server that it can no longer handle it. She reports that Logius is trying to solve the problem and advises people who want to log in to try again in an hour.
