Belgian investment funds have reached a new record. At the end of last year, 250 billion euros in assets were parked at these funds, according to figures from the Financial Services and Markets Authority (FSMA) on Monday.
The net assets of Belgian investment funds were almost 18 billion euros higher than at the end of 2024, or 7.6 percent. “This increase was caused by a combination of favorable developments on the financial markets and net subscriptions,” the FSMA said. In 2025, a net amount of 8.2 billion euros was subscribed to investment funds.
It is striking that equity funds have become the largest category, for the first time since the FSMA started publishing the figures in 2021. Equity funds represented 39.4 percent of the assets managed by investment funds at the end of last year, compared to 39 percent for mixed funds and 11.4 percent for pension savings funds.
