With a minimal win (28-27), VOC conquers the women’s handball title at the expense of SEW. This is largely thanks to Elly An de Boer. The cheerful and very outspoken coach of the Amsterdam team says goodbye in the perfect way. “That’s how you want to stop.”
In the above report we follow Elly An de Boer during her last day as VOC trainer. That starts with the coffee stop in South Limburg, because the handball final battle is in Geleen this year.
Later in the Glanerbrook sports hall, De Boer’s emotions run high. She asserts herself non-stop on the sidelines and literally shouts her team to victory. “It is very difficult to reach the players because of the noise.”
After the final whistle, the party starts at VOC. After the many dances of joy with the accompanying supporters, a long but festive return journey follows. Where the title will be celebrated in the center of Amsterdam until the early hours.
