Temperatures everywhere in the country today are between 17 and 19 degrees. While the sun shines brightly in the east and north, cloud fields cover the rest of the country. There may be a very local shower, reports Weeronline. After the weekend the weather will change.
With a moderate east-northeast wind, today is mainly mild spring weather. While the northern provinces get plenty of sun, sun and cumulus clouds alternate in the center and south. Most of the clouds will disappear tonight. It will cool down to 6 to 9 degrees tonight, locally to 4 degrees in the far east.
Lubricate
Tomorrow spring will take it even further. With regular sunshine, the thermometer reaches 20 to 22 degrees in many places in the country. Weeronline warns people who go outside: between 12 noon and 3 p.m. the sun’s UV index reaches 5. Without sunscreen you can burn within twenty to thirty minutes.
It won’t be summery warm everywhere on Saturday. On the Wadden Islands and in areas where the wind blows from relatively cold water, the mercury remains stuck at a maximum of 16 degrees.
Land in two
On Sunday the weather literally splits the country in two. While it can still reach 20 degrees locally in the southern provinces, it is considerably cooler on the Wadden Islands and along the north coast at 13 or 14 degrees. The chance of rain increases from the southeast during the afternoon and evening.
Much fresher
Anyone hoping for an early summer will be disappointed after the weekend. On Monday it will be a maximum of 12 to 15 degrees from north to south. That is remarkably chilly for this time of year: around 18 degrees is usual in mid-May.
The temperature will also remain around 12 to 15 degrees for the rest of the week. The weather is changeable with a daily chance of rain, although the sun also makes an appearance every now and then. Only Tuesday seems to be a mainly dry day.
