Jannik Sinner took to the pitch for his first training session at the Internazionali di Roma on pitch 14 from 5pm, for an hour and a half. Hundreds crowded the entrance barriers for hours to secure a place where they could see at least the outline of their champion. Jannik Sinner’s ‘first’ at the Forum for his training ahead of his debut scheduled for Saturday evening turned out, as one might expect, into a huge crowd. There were those who brought ‘holy cards’ depicting the number one in the world, those who brought signs with the words “Thank you for the courage you give us!”. Many families with children in tow who braved the sultry heat. Tennis fans, including foreign ones, accompanied each shot with chants, ovations and clapping of hands.
