Aston Villa is the last hurdle for SC Freiburg on the way to triumph in the Europa League.
The traditional club from Birmingham won the semi-final second leg against Premier League rivals Nottingham Forest 4-0 (1-0) in front of Edelfan Prince William and English national coach Thomas Tuchel.
The fifth-placed team in the Premier League lost the first leg 0-1 to the team of German goalkeeper Stefan Ortega. The final against SC will take place on May 20th in Istanbul.
The English national striker Ollie Watkins (39th), who played with a turban after a previously suffered head injury, as well as Emiliano Buendia with a penalty (57th) and John McGinn (77th, 80th) scored the clear victory – which brings Villa to a European Cup final for only the second time in the club’s history: in 1982, the club defeated Bayern Munich in the final of the national champions’ cup.
