For years, Ali B fancied himself some kind of showbiz god who could make whatever he wanted. Apparently the rapper assumed that every woman saw him as some kind of god, because he forced himself on them in a disgusting way. This morning the judge will rule on the appeal in his abuse case and he will probably disappear behind bars.

No contact

StukTV star Thomas van der Vlugt is not surprised about what Ali has accomplished. He knows the rapper personally. “Certainly. We also spent a while with his management, so I think it is very special to experience this, yes,” he says in the studio of Show news.

Is he still in touch with him now? “No, never. We were already gone when this all came out.”

Arrogant

Why isn’t Thomas surprised by Ali’s misbehavior? “I always thought his attitude towards me was very special. Well, just, he could come across as arrogant. When this came out, I thought: yes, you see, this is just ehh… Very wrong.”

Presenter Dyantha Brooks: “Anyway, this is of course a matter of a completely different order. Someone can be arrogant, but this is about rape and sexual assault. It doesn’t surprise you?”

Pretty sturdy

Private boss Evert Santegoeds hears it again often. “That same arrogance really worked against him at the hearing.”

Dyantha: “But it doesn’t surprise you? That’s quite strong in itself, right?”

Thomas: “Yes, I find it intense.”

Telegraaf reporter Jordi Versteegden: “When you talk about it, I also see a certain…”

Thomas concludes: “Yes, I hope that the law will simply rule, but it is very sad that it all happened. I think that is terrible for the victims.”
