Bad Bunny caused a stir at the Met Gala again – this time as abuelo disguised. With elaborate aging make-up designed by Mike Merino, he delivered a literal interpretation of the theme of the Costume Institute exhibition: “Aging Body”. But the Puerto Rican superstar also used his Met Gala moment to debut something new: a logo with his real name, Benito Antonio.
As eagle-eyed fans noticed, press photos from Benito’s styling session for the Met Gala show the star sitting in a director’s chair – with “Benito Antonio” written in a round, bubble-like font on the back. The same font also adorned the label of his custom-made, all-black Zara tuxedo.
Bad Bunny is currently in the process of trademarking “Benito Antonio.” Documents available to ROLLING STONE show that Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio – also listed as “AKA Bad Bunny” in the filings – registered the name for registration in January 2026. The brand doesn’t seem to have been finally approved yet, but the move fits in well with the new logo.
New chapter or clothing line?
So what does all of this mean? Some fans believe that a new chapter is dawning – Bad Bunny could drop his pseudonym and appear under his real name from now on. Others are convinced that the new logo simply ushers in a new musical era.
Representatives of Bad Bunny have not yet responded to a request from ROLLING STONE.
Benito himself has not yet confirmed anything, which is why these fan theories could come true – or simply come to nothing. But details from the trademark registration suggest that the musician could enter the fashion industry as an entrepreneur and start his own clothing brand. The application was filed under a clothing class; The intended goods listed are “ties for clothing; belts for clothing; leather belts for clothing”. Of course, Bad Bunny could also be planning a merch drop for his ongoing “Debí Tirar Más Photos” world tour – but the items mentioned are not typical merchandise like T-shirts or caps.
The musician has worked with fashion brands in the past, most recently with Zara. The Spanish retailer designed his outfit for his historic Super Bowl halftime show appearance – including an iconic cream jersey with “OCASIO” on the back and “64” on the front. Bad Bunny explained that the jersey was a tribute to his late uncle Cutito, who was born in 1964. Has Benito now launched his own clothing line – named after his first name as a reference to his origins? That definitely sounds like him, and would be another way to pay tribute to his Puerto Rican roots. Until then it’s time to wait and see.
