Summer newcomer Stefano Marino has prematurely extended his contract with SC Paderborn, which is valid until 2027. The 22-year-old center forward was trained at KSC and came from Hannover 96’s reserves to make a new attempt in the 2nd Bundesliga. Merino, who was born in Pforzheim, played 27 times for the SCP in the lower house and the DFB Cup and contributed eight goals.
“I am very pleased that I have extended my contract with SCP07 early. I feel very comfortable and the club has given me the opportunity to develop excellently since my move. I am very grateful for that and am pleased that I was able to help the team with good performances and goals and would like to continue to help,” said Marino.
Paderborn’s sports director Sebastian Lange explained: “We are very happy that Stef has already committed to us for the long term. He is a good example of our Paderborn path and of how players can develop step by step within our structures. He made the leap to the professionals through our U21s and has developed into a permanent fixture there. With the early extension of his contract, we would like to consciously honor this development and show him our maximum appreciation. At the same time, we want to give him the trust to consistently follow his chosen path with us to move on and fully exploit your further potential.”
According to “Sky”, midfielder Tom Baack is moving from 1. FC Nürnberg to Paderborn on a free transfer. The 27-year-old from Essen is scheduled to complete the medical check this Tuesday. Baack will receive a contract until 2028. The right-footed player only moved from Verl to Nuremberg on a free transfer last summer.
