Next year, Liberation Festival Drenthe will be the stage for the national kick-off of all Liberation Festivals in the Netherlands. Then the Prime Minister, among others, will come to Assen to open the Liberation Festival.
This is what festival chairman Bob Bergsma said in conversation with Radio Drenthe. The province of Drenthe also hosted the national celebration in 2014. Then Prime Minister Rutte lit the fire of liberation.
Does this role also provide an extra budget for the Drenthe Liberation Festival? “Preliminary discussions about this are already underway,” says Bergsma. “The province also has a role in this. This will undoubtedly have an effect on the programming.”
