Nienke Brinkman has improved the nineteen-year-old Dutch record in the Rotterdam marathon. The 28-year-old athlete stopped the clock at 2.22.51 at the finish on the Coolsingel. She ran Lornah Kiplagat’s 2.23.43 out of the books. Kiplagat ran that time in 2003, in the New York Marathon.
