André van Duin’s safe is already overflowing, but a new real estate deal makes his gold-rimmed old age completely untouchable. A sober senior apartment? He will never have to report there…

André van Duin is again trying to sell his characteristic canal house in Amsterdam, this time for a hefty 6 million euros. The comedian bought the house at the beginning of this century for a fraction of that amount — namely 1.5 million euros — and took it off the market in 2020 when a sale failed to materialize. Is a mega real estate deal awaiting him now?

André leaves

Private boss Evert Santegoeds, who maintains a good relationship with André, states that the comedian is permanently moving to his new apartment in Laren. “André is leaving Amsterdam and he is right, many people will say,” says the magazine maker.

He continues at the desk Show news: “André actually wanted to leave that house on the canal earlier, where he was very happy for a long time with his husband Martin, who died there. That did not leave him in the cold, but another man came very quickly and then André changed his mind.”

Gelderlandplein

For a moment, André thought about moving to the Gelderlandplein neighborhood, according to Evert. “He was actually going to be my neighbor, he looked around there for a while and also decorated a house. In the end he did not live there and decided not to sell that house, which was then for sale for 5 million.”

“He is now right that he did not do that, because it has now become worth a million more. It is now for sale for 6 million.”

Broken through

André’s new living situation looks good, says Evert. “He now has a house in Laren. It has already been expanded to include the neighbors’ house. That will be broken through, furnished in a very cozy way and then André will have a little more space. The neighbors on the other side are also starting to get nervous.”

Next year the MAX star will be 80 years old. “I don’t think he will celebrate on the canal anymore, but in Laren and Mallorca. He will live in Laren and spend a large part of the year with Fernando in Mallorca. That is why he is going to sell that house.”
