The Noordwijk council has spoken out against the arrival of an asylum seekers’ center in the municipality. The goal of Bloemendaal is to house the asylum seekers (with an as yet unknown composition, ed.) in the Tiltenberg in early 2027. There are hardly any facilities nearby.
A somewhat milder sound can be heard from the municipality of Hillegom. “The municipality of Bloemendaal must also implement the dispersal law. This concerns their territory and we have no say in that,” explains councilor Mike Roelofs. “The fact that it is located near the border with South Holland may be a bit unfortunate.”
‘Inform the Hillegommers in a timely manner’
Roelofs also emphasizes that Hillegommers must be properly and timely informed about developments. And that they too, just like the residents of Noordwijk, can participate in the discussion in the run-up to the possible arrival of the refugees. Possibly, because important contracts still have to be signed.
