Canadians, Poles, French and even Belgians. The Drenthe villages and towns have been liberated by soldiers from many different countries. The countries that worked together to liberate the Netherlands and Europe are called the Allies.
In the context of 80 years of freedom, RTV Drenthe released the three-part documentary series ‘In the Spoor of the Liberators’ last year. Presenter Vera Beuke follows the routes of the liberators in 1945.
