The 23-year-old Segaert, from Lendelede, attracted attention last spring with a win in the Grand Prix of Denain and late exits in Nokere Koerse and In Flanders Fields. After a short break after Paris-Roubaix, he will return to racing on Friday at the Grande Partenza. It will be the second Grand Tour for Segaert, after the 2025 Vuelta.
According to his team, Segaert brings “added value in positioning and supporting his teammates, and in the individual time trial and the stages with opportunities for escapees”. In the flat, 42 kilometer time trial on May 19, Segaert must compete against home rider Filippo Ganna.
