TO 20 years since the first chapter The Devil Wears Prada 2 – released in Italy on Wednesday 29 April and in the USA on 1 May – is box office hit (and has yet to be released in Japan). The new adventures of Miranda Priestly, Andy, Emily and Nigel they grossed 233 million worldwide. The sequel is therefore a great success and a bet already won for 20th Century Studios Disney, which wanted to believe once again in the strength of the story taken from Lauren Weisberg’s 2003 semi-biography of the same name, investing an out-of-scale sum in its production. We talk about over 100 million dollars (around 85 million euros), one considerable amount compared to the 35 million dollars of the first film.
What worked? Well, first and foremost the return of the main cast Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci, hired for stratospheric sumstop secret for now. But, beyond everything, good or bad criticism, there is the fact that the sequel is the response-gift to the fans who in these 20 years have made the 2006 film an (almost immediate) cult. Fans sharing each other in public female (made up of singles, young mothers and teenage daughters) king gay men. Both running into the theater to see a darker chapter (the editorial crisis) but still entertaining, also starring Italy with Milan as the center of fashion as Paris was.

The plot of the sequel and the guest stars
The first 2006 chapter of the glamorous saga revolves around the magazine Runways. To its infamous director Miranda Priestley (Meryl Streep) and aspiring journalist Andy (Anne Hathaway). Having stumbled upon the temple of fashion for a job interview by chance, she is unexpectedly hired by Miranda despite not knowing that environment. In the space of a few months, Andy transforms from a clumsy, gaffe-prone assistant to a sophisticated and well-regarded professional. When his relationship fails, he enters into crisis. Forced to bypass her colleague Emily (Emily Blunt) to accompany Miranda to Paris, she understands that that fantastic world no longer fascinates her.
20 years later Andy returns to the crime scene next to Miranda, both dealing in various ways with the publishing crisis. The former assistant, now a well-known journalist, is fired together with her editorial team just as she is about to receive a prestigious award. At the same time, Miranda is inundated with fierce criticism for publishing articles praising an unethical brand that exploits its workers. He comes to his aid again Andy, hired as editor-in-chief without the knowledge of the fashion czarina to bring the glossy magazine into the social age. However, things will not be easy at all.
In addition to the historic cast, they joined together in this second adventure guest stars such as Lady Gaga, Naomi Campbell and Donatella Versace. Nothing to do, however, for Anne Wintour and Sydney Sweeney, cut in the final version.
