The party has already started at Penzo and along the canals, the club returns to Serie A one year after having failed in its salvation mission. Yet another success for Veneto this year. From Fabio Gallo’s Vicenza who triumphed in group A of Serie C, securing promotion six days before Treviso’s historic return to the professional ranks after 13 years in the amateurs. And that of the region is a sensational paradox: they celebrate more or less everywhere, except in Verona.

In Serie C there is also another Venetian club that still hopes: Iori’s Cittadella already certain of a place in the playoffs. The other feat is that of the newly promoted Dolomiti Bellunesi, who achieved a daring salvation for the first time among the professionals after a complicated year spent fighting at the bottom of the rankings. In short, in the region it is celebrated everywhere, except in Verona. The fate of Sammarco’s gialloblù is in fact the return to Serie B: the team was relegated (on the sofa, due to Lecce’s success in Pisa) after seven years, ending a disastrous championship. In the next season Veneto will continue to have teams in all professional categories: Venezia in A, Verona and Vicenza in B, then Treviso, Arzignano and Dolomiti Bellunesi in C. With two unknowns: Cittadella committed to the playoffs and the hope of Virtus Verona’s repechage, as already happened in 17/18. A complicated but possible hypothesis, considering that by June all Serie C clubs will have to submit the application for registration to the championship accompanied by the necessary documentation (payments, guarantees, infrastructure requirements, stadium availability).
