The Minister of the Interior and Kingdom Relations (BZK) and the trade unions have made agreements for a collective labor agreement in 2026 for government civil servants. They have achieved a so-called negotiation result, which the unions will present to their members. If they agree, the agreement will be finalized. In this result, all government civil servants will receive a pay increase of 2.7% as of July 1. In addition, they receive a one-off payment that is higher for lower collective labor agreement scales. The mileage allowance will also increase.
Pieter Heerma, Minister of the Interior and Kingdom Relations: “It is great that we have resolved the impasse between the cabinet and the unions over the central government collective labor agreement. With the wage increase of 2.7% and a one-off nominal amount, we show our appreciation for the government civil servants who do important work for society.”
The collective labor agreement will apply from January 1, 2026 to December 31, 2026. The broad agreements are:
- 1-year collective labor agreement, with a wage increase of 2.7% on July 1.
- One-off payment depending on salary. The lower scales receive a higher amount.
- Scales 1 to 5 € 1400; scales 6 to 10 € 1200; scales 11 and higher € 1000.
- The kilometer allowance will also increase from €0.21 to €0.23 per kilometer.
