Lionesses captain Leah Williamson remains loyal to the club she loves, Arsenal FC. The central defender has signed a new contract with the Champions League winners, which runs until 2028, according to the BBC. The English first division football team announced this two days before the semi-final second leg at OL Lyonnes (first leg 2-1) on Saturday (3 p.m./Disney+).

The two-time European champion has been part of the club for 20 years. She trained at Arsenal as a child and has since spent her entire career with the Gunners, making 282 appearances to date. In addition to the premier class last year, Williamson also won the championship once and the FA Cup twice with the club during this time.

As captain, she led England to their first major women’s title at the home European Championships in the final against Germany in 2022, followed three years later by the successful defense of the title in Switzerland.
