There will be much industrial unrest at national and local level, with disruption to transport and other sectors. The dates of the stops to trains, buses, planes, schools and healthcare
It will be a particularly complicated May on the strike front. In fact, there will be many days in which workers employed in the sectors of transport, school and healthcare they will cross their arms. We start immediately with a general strike scheduled for Friday May 1stwhich will be followed by two other general protests scheduled for May 15-16 and the May 29th. There will be numerous protests at a local level and trains, planes, maritime transport and taxis will also be affected by the strikes. On 6 and 7 May the world of schools will stop, with numerous acronyms that have joined the protest. On May 18th it will be the turn of healthcare, when the national strike will involve workers in the national healthcare service, social cooperatives, companies and associations in the social-healthcare, welfare and education sectors for the entire day. However, the sector most affected in May will remain that of transport, with many inconveniences for those who travel, travel for work or live in cities.

May opens with the traditional Workers’ Day and, this year, with a general strike. On May 1st the national agitation proclaimed by Usi Cit which also saw the adhesion of Cobas Lavoro Privato will therefore affect all the public and private categorieswith the exclusion of transport and school. On 15 and 16 May the second national strike of the month will take place, this time lasting 48 hours and called by Csle, which will concern workers in the public sector, ministries, schools of all levels, universities, healthcare, seafarers, railwaysmetalworkers, VAT numbers, petrol stations, farmers and associations. The last national general strike will be held on May 29th, it will also affect trains and motorways and was called for by Usi Cit, Cub, Sgb, Adl Varese, Si Cobas and Usi 1912 also joined.

The general strikes of May 15-16 and of May 29th they will also cause disruption to the railway network. on the occasion of the last general unrest of May, traffic will stop from 9pm on the 28th until 9pm on the 29th. At a local level however the May 5th there will be a stoppage of RFI workers in Florence, with consequent inconvenience for local railway traffic. Trade union unrest is also expected in Naples for the days of 9-10 (from 7.31pm on 9th to 7.30pm on 10th May) and on May 20th (from 9am to 1pm), with Eav employees crossing their arms.

The strikes of 9-10 and 20 May in Naples will also concern the lines ofbuswith Eav employees always protagonists of the stop. From 8am to 10pm on May 5th, again in Naples, the service will be interrupted taxi service for the agitation proclaimed by Orsa Taxi, Federtaxi Cisal, Ugl Taxi, Uritaxi, Uti Consortaxi and Fast Confsal. The May 15th the staff will instead stop Atm in Milaninvolving both surface transport and the subway.

THE’May 11th as a black day for air transport. In fact, the staff will go on strike from 10am to 6pm Easyjet and the employees of the airport security and services companies in Cagliari, of Enav in Rome and Naples, of Adr Security in Fiumicino and of the handling companies in Palermo will stop. In Cagliari there will be a 4-hour stop, from 11am to 3pm, also on May 19th, while in Palermo the handling company will stop again on May 20th from 12pm to 4pm.
Highways and maritime transport

Workers of companies operating in the port sector will strike on May 7 for 24 hours. The stop for the road freight transport sector is longer, with an unrest that will last from 00.00 on 25 May to 24.00 on 29 May. Highway workers, however, will stop from 10pm on May 28th until 10pm on May 29th.
