From some of the testimonies there would be confirmation of two “piloted” designations, decided in the meeting on 2 April at San Siro which would have involved only people from the refereeing world

Lights on San Siro. Faint, glimmers. The topic is the alleged ‘combine’ of the now famous April 2nd. From some of the testimonies of the referees, heard in the investigation by the Milan Prosecutor’s Office into the “Rocchi system”, the confirmation of the suspected ‘piloted’ designations in favor of certain referees and to the detriment of others emerged.

confirmations

The referees, interviewed by the investigators, would have confirmed those “combined” designations, of which there would have been some sort of awareness among the referees. For the alleged agreement at San Siro, Rocchi is being investigated “in competition” with “multiple people”, who would be exclusively part of the world of referees.

In particular, these would be two precise choices of the now former designator. The reference is to the match on 2 April which took place at San Siro: Andrea Colombo, a “referee liked” by Inter, would have been chosen for the match between the Nerazzurri and Bologna, while Daniele Doveri, “unwelcome to the Nerazzurri” would have been designated for the return derby of the Cup between Inter and Milan. Thus avoiding having him referee the eventual final of the tournament. Both referees were heard by the Prosecutor’s Office.
