The incident happened in Port d’Alcudia, in the northeast of the island. The fire service shared images of the damage. The floor of the fitness room at the hotel ‘Blue Sea Piscis’ was found to have collapsed around 3 p.m. and fell on the kitchen area in the basement. There, two people, a 59-year-old man and 57-year-old woman, were seriously injured. Emergency services had a hard time freeing them.
The hotel will remain closed for the time being, local media report. The cause has yet to be investigated.
