The patient data stolen during the hack at software supplier ChipSoft has not been published anywhere and the data has been destroyed. The company reports this in a statement on its own website. It also concerns data of Brabanders that was stolen in a hack.
The hack at ChipSoft became known earlier this month. Patient data, including medical data, was stolen. Affected institutions included rehabilitation centers and general practices.
A number of general practices in Brabant, including Fonkelzorg with branches in Den Bosch, Uden, Oss and Eindhoven, Huisartsenpraktijk Heikant in Veldhoven and Huisartsenpraktijk Boschdijk in Eindhoven, warned their patients about suspicious telephone calls, emails, text messages and apps.
Destroyed
This stolen data has now been destroyed, according to the company. “Our
Cybersecurity experts have confirmed that this destruction took place in a technically correct manner,” the statement said. ChipSoft did not say whether money was paid to the hackers.
The hack at software supplier ChipSoft has had few major consequences for the Brabant hospitals that use the company’s systems. Bravis and Bernhoven Hospital took their patient portal offline for some time as a precaution.
