Ducati monopoly in Austin. The Desmosedici of Borgo Panigale, in fact, conquer the first five places of the qualifying for the GP of the Americas, never before, unleashing an impressive performance that writes an important page in Ducati history. Jorge Martin’s pole, the second of the season after the one in Qatar for the Spaniard from Pramac who even had to go through Q1 to succeed in his feat. With a time of 2: 02.039 Jorge precedes the two official reds of Jack Miller, second only 3 thousandths, and Pecco Bagnaia, third at 0.128. Behind them is the GP22 of Johann Zarco (0.531) and Enea Bastianini, fifth with the GP21 Gresini at +0.539 after also crashing. A peremptory superiority for the Bolognese manufacturer, at this point to be considered absolute favorite for the race, which reaffirms the quality of the new bike, the GP22, which occupies the entire front row.

The others? They chase. Starting with Fabio Quartararo: the world champion is sixth with the Yamaha at 0.595 after also crashing. Behind him is Alex Rins, who also passed from Q1, seventh at 0.655 with Suzuki, then his teammate Joan Mir (+0.908). Marc Marquez ninth, at 0.999 with Honda and without the long-awaited final twist on one of his favorite tracks, and Takaaki Nakagami tenth at 1.015. Fifth row for the two Aprilia, with Andrea Dovizioso (Yamaha Rnf) 15th, Marco Bezzecchi (Ducati VR46) 16th, Fabio Di Giannantonio (Ducati Gresini) 18th and Franco Morbidelli 19th in great difficulty with Yamaha.
aprilia rejected in q1

Promoted by Q1, as mentioned, Jorge Martin (Ducati Pramac 2: 02.487) and Alex Rins (Suzuki, +0.236). The two Aprilia were unexpectedly rejected, with Aleix Espargaro sliding in a bloody way and being the first of the excluded, with his teammate Vinales behind him.
free 4

In Free 4, not functional for the grid, but useful in terms of the race, there had already been excellent indications for Ducati with the best time of Bagnaia (2.02.983) and the third of Enea Bastianini (+0.186). Second performance for Marc Marquez (+0.132) and fourth for Fabio Quartararo, who precedes Aleix Espargaro’s Aprilia.
