“Neighbor, what were you doing?” The woman who went viral with her roll of tape she suddenly became a well-known Alkmaar resident. All week she tried to cover up her place on the flea market with tape, but the municipality of Alkmaar removed the barriers every day.
Her granddaughters could also laugh about it: “Grandma is a TV star and is on TikTok.”
Different cloth at the cordoned off spot
The municipality said in a response that it would remove the tape, nails and pegs, because this has caused unsafe situations in the past. “We are removing this as a precaution, because unfortunately animals, such as dogs, have been injured by pegs and posts used to cordon off places,” a spokesperson wrote.
“We did it again on Saturday and checked three more times to see if our spot was still cordoned off,” says the woman. “But on Sunday morning at 6.30 am everything was gone again and a blanket was already placed where we had dropped off.”
