National wrestlers achieved a significant success by winning a total of 11 medals at the Senior European Championship held in Tirana, Albania.
Rıza Kayaalp, who competed in the Greco-Roman style 130 kilogram category in the organization, reached a historical record by winning his 13th European championship. Competing in the women’s 68 kilogram category, national wrestler Nesrin Baş, born in 2002, became the Senior European Champion for the second time. While Elvira Süleyman and Evin Demirhan Yavuz won silver medals in women’s 57 kilograms and Evin Demirhan Yavuz in 50 kilograms, Murat Fırat came second in Europe in the Greco-Roman style 67 kilograms. Cengiz Arslan in Greco-Roman style 72 kilograms, Kerem Kamal in 63 kilograms, Buse Tosun Çavuşoğlu in women’s 72 kilograms, Beyza Nur Akkuş in 65 kilograms, Tuba Demir in 55 kilograms and Hakan Büyükçıngıl in freestyle 125 kilograms won bronze medals.
Greco-Roman and Women’s Wrestling National Teams finished the organization as second in Europe as a team.
