Multiple world champion makes future decision

In the current Formula 1 driver field, Fernando Alonso, Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton are three drivers who have become world champions several times. One was now asked about his career planning.
Fernando Alonso spoke about his future in Formula 1 during a historic Grand Prix in Monaco. While the premier class took a break in April due to the unrest in the Middle East, Alonso showed up at the historic event.
The Spaniard was also asked about his plans for the future. Several media outlets, including “Racingnews” and Sky, quoted the now 44-year-old as answering the question whether it was his last season or whether he would continue driving: “I feel competitive, I’m motivated, I’m happy when I’m driving. So yes, hopefully not the last season.”
He expanded on his reasoning and emphasized that he loves racing: “I drove my first race when I was three years old, and I’m 44, so I’ve spent 41 years of my life behind the wheel.”
If he were to stop racing, it would be a very difficult decision for him. “Time will tell,” he began again and added, “I’ll feel it. At the moment I don’t have the feeling that it’s ready yet.”
Alonso obviously hasn’t had enough. It is an open secret that he had hoped to be able to compete at the front with Aston Martin again this season thanks to the comprehensive rule changes. However, that didn’t work. The 18th place in the race in Japan was the only time that one of the two Aston Martins even made it to the finish line.
