In an interview with “Süddeutsche”, presenter and actress Collien Fernandes talks about the weeks after she made serious allegations against her ex-partner, actor Christian Ulmen. She received many hate messages and threats. “It was incredibly stressful for me emotionally,” says the 44-year-old. And further: “I felt better before the ad than now.”
Fernandes accuses Ulmen of creating fake profiles in her name and using them to distribute pornographic images. The “Spiegel” first reported on the case. In the ensuing debate, this was mixed with deepfake videos. Ulmen’s lawyer Christian Schertz said that “untrue facts were being spread based on a one-sided description.” “That should sound like a denial,” says Fernandes. He was never accused of producing and distributing deepfake videos.
“Now, after the press release from his lawyer, some people believe that I have been contradicted, so it is clear that I am lying. I see this as blatant psychological terror on the part of my ex-husband.”
“That made me angry”
When asked why it took a year after Ulmen’s confession to her before the complaint was filed, she said: Such a complaint wasn’t written overnight. “You work on it, gather evidence. It’s a long process.” During that time she had panic attacks. It bothered her that he didn’t tell her which men he was writing to. “Of course he could be the most authentic fake Collie of all because he knew when I came home from filming, who I liked, what conflicts I had.”
She was also lonely, Fernandes says in the interview. Ulmen allegedly told her that if she talked about it with others, it would violate his personal rights. “It made me angry because he trampled on mine, but I stuck to it.”
The Potsdam public prosecutor’s office is now investigating a criminal complaint filed by Fernandes. The presumption of innocence applies to elms.
