It wouldn’t surprise Tina Nijkamp if Beau van Erven Dorens and Humberto Tan immediately retire from RTL Tonight after their umpteenth Renze Klamer bash. “This is really going off the rails.”

Beau van Erven Dorens and Humberto Tan are gradually emerging as the biggest enemies of their own channel RTL 4: they keep attacking Renze Klamer, the man who will have to take on the important late-evening slot after the summer. They single-handedly ensure that his new program starts with a blemish.

Derailed

The two senior men do not stop talking about the alleged betrayal by Renze, who left the failed RTL Tonight at an early stage and can now take over as successor. Humberto is now back in Nikkie de Jager’s podcast complaining that it is all so unfair. And that fragment is broadcast everywhere.

TV authority Tina Nijkamp on her analysis channel: “The fragment was everywhere! From Boulevard to Shownieuws and VI. This is going to cause too much damage now. The first conversations at the RTL office tomorrow, I think. This RTL Tonight soap has really gone off the rails. I even wonder if they will even finish the season.”

Campaign

Angela de Jong also thinks that the RTL top should intervene. “They are now really working on some kind of campaign. If I were RTL, I would now say: ‘Guys, it’s done now’,” she says in the AD Media Podcast.

“It’s bad for the channel and bad for the successor. You also know that if those men have a new program and they can sell it at Renze’s table, they will just do that again. (…) To keep complaining about it… I don’t believe that wins the viewer’s sympathy.”

A bit sad

Job Knoester thinks Beau and Humberto are two souls. “Someone has to protect them from themselves? Isn’t it getting a bit sad that whining all the time?” he says in Today Inside.

Johan Derksen then: “I think they are a bit whiners and sore losers. They talk about Renze, but they apparently don’t blame themselves. They have all done well.”

And bar guest Merel Ek: “You should be angry with the management and not with Renze, right? That seems more logical, right?”

Napping

Bram Moszkowicz thinks Beau and Humberto are false men. “It’s also a bit of a joke, isn’t it, how they talk about him, like: ‘It’s the chosen one.’”

Private boss Evert Santegoeds: “He is 60 and Beau is 55. Then you are really stamping your feet like toddlers.”

Bram: “That’s what I mean to say.”

Evert concludes: “I have the feeling that at RTL they are not very happy with this two-man action to focus all their efforts on Renze. They say in a statement: ‘Well, we prefer to have these kinds of discussions internally.’ I sense from this that that discussion will also take place in the coming days, internally.”
