This year, the victory of the filter coffee competition organized since 2017 went to a roastery from Helsinki.

The Finnish coffee industry’s most significant and long-standing competition comparing coffees from different roasters was organized for the tenth time at the Helsinki Coffee Festivals.
In Finland’s longest-running competition comparing coffees from different roasters, a professional jury blindly evaluates coffees from 16 different roasters. In the decaffeinated coffees, 9 coffees from different roasters competed.
– The competition has been an important platform for the development of coffee culture for almost a decade. The competition was developed to find better coffee for everyone and its goal is that the winning coffees can be bought at home and can be prepared easily. In the filter coffee of the year, we were looking for a good, balanced example of the roastery’s skill, as described in the press release Maija Kestiläwho is one of the founders of the Helsinki Coffee Festival.

3. Kaffa Roastery: Decaf, Colombia, Sugar Cane Decaf (Colombia)
Over the years, the competition has grown significantly in the coffee industry and has been developed in close cooperation with experts and professionals in the field. This year, the jury included a barista, a coffee consultant and an influencer Ali Qasimcoffee researcher Tia GrahnAeroPress & Cup Tasters Finnish champion Simo Niiranenfounder of Kaffekaver & coffee influencer Oona Malmström and coffee industry professional and head roaster Alan Grosvenor.
This year again, many of the coffee in the filter coffee competition came from Colombia. The coffees ranked in the top three for both filter and decaffeinated coffee came from Colombia, Kenya and Mexico.
