Finland’s Eurovision commentator Mikko Silvennoinen will host the Eurovision Song Contest from Pasila’s studio again this year, says MTV.
Silvennoinen goes to Vienna for the opening of the Eurovision Song Contest, where he meets artists and does background work. However, the narration itself will take place in Pasila as last year.
The reason is that in connection with both the semi-final and the possible final, advance and follow-up broadcasts are carried out, in which Silvennoinen is involved.
He admits that reporting from Finland is significantly different from on-site visa reporting.
– Of course it’s different. You never know what’s going on in the hall. I don’t know if the viewers noticed such a big difference. I believe everything will be fine if nothing extraordinary happens. However, the emotional level is different, he admits.
Silvennoinen brightened Wednesday morning Good morning Finland – in the broadcast of Finland’s historical ranking at the top of the official Eurovision betting statistics:
– Never before has it been statistically so likely that Finland will win the Eurovision Song Contest. It does not automatically mean that Finland will win. Probability doesn’t always apply.
Yle’s cost-saving measures hit the Eurovision broadcast last year, when Silvennoinen said that he would not host the competition from Switzerland.
Silvennoinen worked then in the same way as it does now. He traveled to Basel only for the opening weekend and then returned to Pasila to cover the competition.
