In the sub-topper against Roda JC, Jong Ajax played a draw tonight. It ended in Kerkrade after a nice game in 2-2. Young AZ had a hard time against leader FC Emmen and went down 3-0.
Naci Ünüvar gave the visitors the lead after fifteen minutes. The attacker came in from the right and shot the ball through a defender over keeper Rody de Boer. Despite the lead, Roda JC was the better team in the first half. Just before half time it was 1-1 by Patrick Pflücke.
At the start of the second half, the Limburgers took the lead. Dylan Vente went for the goal alone and scored with a nice lob. Young Ajax turned out not to be discouraged, because within the hour it was 2-2. Kristian Hlynsson was able to swipe from the edge of the penalty area and he shot the ball diagonally into the bottom left corner.
After 34 matches, Jong Ajax is seventh in the first division with 59 points. Roda JC is the number five with one point more.

It was a tough evening in Emmen for Jong AZ. The league’s number one struck three times via Miguel Araujo, Ole Romeny and Rui Mendes. The Alkmaarders could only counter that with a good chance from Fedde de Jong.
Jong AZ is now fourteenth with 38 points from 34 matches.
