Suddenly there is jubilation in Volendam: “We want to realize something unique”

Exactly a week ago, the mood at FC Volendam dropped to freezing point. The defeat against TOP Oss, the sixth game without a win, angry fans in the dressing room and promotion to the Eredivisie that seemed to be slipping through their hands. But after the 3-1 victory over De Graafschap, everything is different and players and supporters celebrated as if the Eredivisie had already been won.

After the game, trainer Wim Jonk calmly told his story in front of the camera. The outburst of joy on the field said a lot. “It indicates that it lives in the group to realize something unique.” Although the trainer realizes that his team is not there yet. After all, with a bit of luck, the visitors would have gotten on the bus to Doetinchem with one and perhaps three points.

Substitute Derry John Murkin acknowledged that the victory was doping. After a series of six matches in which FC Volendam did not win, that can now be drawn.
