Billie Eilish has released a new trailer for her upcoming 3D concert film, which she co-directed with James Cameron.

In the clip, Eilish and Cameron discuss the creative vision behind “Billie Eilish Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour (Live in 3D).” Cameron explains: “This will blow people’s heads off.” The trailer shows how the 3D cameras were set up during Eilish’s headlining tour – including one placed in a glowing box right next to the singer. “We’ll have to use a few tricks, but it’ll look great,” says Cameron.

The trailer also gives impressions of the tour itself – including the audience jumping along to Eilish’s performance of “Bad Guy”. “I want it to feel like it’s just me and her,” she explains of the touring experience. “I love that.” And further: “I want to be the artist whose fan I would want to be.”

Puppy room for the crew

Eilish also reveals that at every tour date, she tries to set up a so-called “Puppy Room” backstage, where local animal rescue organizations bring cute dogs for her and the crew to cuddle – before the show starts. “Everyone needs a little puppy love,” she says.

“Billie Eilish Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour (Live in 3D)” was originally scheduled for March 20th. In January, Cameron announced on Threads that the release had been pushed back to May 8th. “We’re refining the editing, honing in on some cool new 3D tech and adding some special behind-the-scenes moments you’ll love,” Cameron wrote. “It’s worth the wait!”

The film was made during Eilish’s four concert nights in Manchester in July 2025. The musician hinted at the project on stage at the time: “I can’t say much about it. But what I can say is: I’m working on something very, very special with someone called James Cameron, and it’s going to be in 3D. Draw your own conclusions – and these four shows here in Manchester, you and I, are part of something I’m doing with him right now.”

Eilish on Cameron: “He never gives up”

In October, Eilish told WSJ Magazine: “I’m really excited about everything, and I can’t wait for fans to experience this 3D experience we’re working on. I’ve never done anything like this before, and I haven’t really seen anything like it – I’m just in awe at every step of the process. He spends the entire show [die Show zu rahmen] in front of all the screens, and he just doesn’t stop. He never yawns, and he deeply respects what I imagine.”

The concert film will be Cameron’s first release since the theatrical premiere of “Avatar: Fire and Ash” in December. Eilish’s last concert film, “Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter to Los Angeles,” was released in 2021.
