Billie Eilish was missing from the first Coachella weekend – and the much-anticipated guest appearance with Justin Bieber failed to materialize. Weekend two will show whether the “Bad Guy” remix and reunion are still coming.
Billie Eilish is set to appear again at Coachella 2026 – at least that’s what her fans want. The rumor mill on TikTok is abuzz, with pictures and videos of the singer circulating that supposedly show her at the festival.
In addition, the singer posted an Instagram story of a billboard for her concert film before the first weekend of the festival. The surroundings of the table are strongly reminiscent of the Colorado Desert in California, where the musical spectacle takes place.
It has been an integral part of Coachella since 2019
The idea of her appearing as a surprise guest isn’t that far-fetched. After all, the singer has been on a streak of performing at Coachella since 2019.
She made her debut at the festival in 2019. After a two-year Corona break, she was the youngest headliner to play at Coachella. Since then, she has been an integral part of the festival: in 2023 she made a guest appearance with Labrinth on the Euphoria song “Never Felt So Lonely”, in 2024 she performed “Ocean Eyes” and “Video Games” together with Lana Del Rey, and in 2025 she performed with Charli xcx and the feature on “Guess”.
Fans are speculating a guest appearance with Justin Bieber
Now the singer’s fans are wondering where she is this year. The assumptions on TikTok, Instagram and Co. are that Eilish will make a surprise appearance with Justin Bieber at this year’s festival.
Bieber has been making headlines for weeks with his headline set, as it is his big stage comeback after a break of almost four years. Coachella was popularized in advance under the term “Bieberchella”. The reactions to his appearance on the first weekend of the festival were ambivalent. The singer initially played many new songs, but then also brought old hits like “Baby” and “Sorry” to the stage – with an unusual concept: He selected the tracks on YouTube and sang interactively with his former self. After all, it was the video platform through which he was discovered. Some call his performance lazy, others think it’s brilliant.
The much-anticipated guest appearance didn’t happen – for now
What was missing from the entire performance, however, was the much-anticipated guest appearance with Billie Eilish. Fans had suspected a joint performance because there was a remix of Eilish’s song “Bad Guy” with a rap part from Justin Bieber. Unfortunately, this wasn’t played on the first weekend.
Hope is now focused on the second weekend. That wouldn’t be unusual, because last year Eilish only appeared on the second weekend of Coachella – together with Charli xcx.
The festival in California takes place over two consecutive weekends with the same acts. If she is not on stage with Bieber, many hopes rest on a cameo with Labrinth – in which she was already a surprise guest in 2023.
