Gas station owners are sounding the alarm after intervention in Germany, making refueling across the border even more attractive. Chancellor Friedrich Merz announced on Monday an excise duty reduction of 17 cents per liter on petrol and diesel. According to trade associations Nove and Bovag, there is a risk of further emptying of Dutch petrol stations, especially in the border regions.
