thyssenkrupp is gaining new customers in the Materials Services division through an acquisition in northwest Mexico and expanding its offering for existing customers.
According to a press release, the Ruhr group is acquiring the majority of Aceroteca Trading, a service center for the processing of flat-rolled carbon steel based in the greater Monterrey area. The system primarily serves customers in the areas of heating and air conditioning technology as well as power transmission, it says.
The takeover of Aceroteca Trading is an important strategic step for thyssenkrupp Materials Services. Aceroteca founder and CEO Hector Morales will continue to lead the company and retain a minority stake. No financial details were provided.
At times, the steel company’s shares were at 8.53 euros via XETRA on Friday, which corresponds to an increase of 2.89 percent.
