A small backyard in the capital region is being renovated in Kotoisa.

Katri and Mark built a detached house for their small family in the capital region two and a half years ago. However, the dream home has a significant deficiency: the backyard is almost unusable.
Kotoisa’s construction contractor Teemu Luostarinen and yard planner Kati Jukarainen they quickly notice what they are talking about. The backyard is small and there is no room for the family to play around. The lawn leads steeply downhill and the ditch bordering the plot taxes the already tight squares.

Katri wants the yard to be a comfortable, functional and safe space where she can also spend time with her little boy Benjamin. One concrete additional wish for him also comes to mind.
– We have a really small warehouse. If you could get some kind of storage solutions, that would be really wonderful, Katri expresses her wish.
Kati Jukarai’s wish for a warehouse caught Kati Jukarai’s ear right away, and not really in a good way.
– The borders of the plot are so close that I can’t get storage anywhere in a fire-safe manner.
After meeting the owner, Teemu and Kati are left to digest what they saw.
– This is shockingly small. There were a lot of wishes, as expected. Yes, I see that there are also opportunities here, Kati sums up her thoughts.
Kat is also thinking about another thing.
– However, here is a fairly large budget considering the size of the yard. I’m a little worried about whether Katri feels that she will definitely get her money’s worth.

In the end, you can get a lot in a small yard: there is a covered sitting area in the corner, you can grill on the terrace and hang out after the sauna, and there is also a small grass area for ball games. There is also more storage space, even though building a warehouse was an impossibility.
Kati is still worried, for the same reason as before the renovation. The budget given to the designers was quite generous, but a large slice of the money has gone to leveling the sloping ground.
– Yes, I’m a little nervous, the designer admits.
