The film Land van Johan, a reflection of the 1970s, is said to contain too much unnecessary nudity and too much football, and is therefore too focused on men. That is why the public broadcaster only wanted to broadcast the film if there was an ‘expurgated version’, says maker Eddy Terstall. According to Omroep Max chairman Jan Slagter, there is no censorship and the deletion of ‘non-functional nudity shots’ is only a consequence of the request to shorten the film.
