Juve is once again on Calafiori’s trail. Whether the suggestion becomes something more next summer will depend on at least two factors: Juve will have to go to the Champions League and the player will have to push to soften the position of his current club, Arsenal. There is certainly the precise will of Elkann, who wants to restore to the Italian national team the Juventus block that in the past was the basis of so many successes for the Azzurri. Calafiori is from Arsenal, one step away from winning the Premier League. In the last period his ownership has been somewhat interrupted, while in the new Juve he would become one of the main references. It becomes a good basis for leveraging the player, who already in the summer of 2024 – when he was at Bologna – had toyed with the idea of moving to Turin. On that occasion, Juve had to give in to competition from Arsenal, who had come to the negotiating table with 45 million plus 5 in bonuses, of which a large percentage in favor of Basel (50% of the capital gain made by Bologna) and a smaller part for Roma who had sent him to Switzerland.

At Continassa they are increasingly taking into account having to do without some valuable pieces (Cambiaso and Kalulu are the first on the list, but there is also a scenario linked to Bremer’s exit) and they hope to find a place in the meantime for those players who are no longer part of the plans, from Openda to David (a capital gain could come from him) via Douglas Luiz and Nico Gonzalez.
