Eintracht player Nina Lührßen in the game at BK Häcken

As of: April 2, 2026 • 8:38 p.m

The Eintracht Frankfurt women missed out on a place in the final of the European Cup. There was a narrow win in Gothenburg, but the deficit from the first leg was too big.

The Eintracht Frankfurt women missed out on a place in the final of the European Cup. On Thursday they won the second leg in Gothenburg, Sweden against BK Häcken 1-0 (1-0). However, the 3-0 defeat in the first leg meant that it wasn’t enough to make it through to the semi-finals.

As expected, Eintracht immediately started with pressure to score the first goal as quickly as possible. Elisa Senß had the first good chance with a long-range shot after less than two minutes. Shortly afterwards, first Laura Freigang and then Ereleta Memeti missed good volley chances in the penalty area (15th/16th). The bell rang in the 31st minute: Nicole Anyomi fought for a long pass, left the opposing defense standing and scored to make it 1-0.

Altenburg keeps unity in the game

In stoppage time in the first half, Eintracht had to survive a moment of shock: goalkeeper Lina Altenburg was just able to save against Felicia Schröder, who had shone in the first leg. The second round began in a similar way when Altenburg was there against Monica Jusu Bah. Afterwards there was the usual picture again: the Frankfurt women ran. However, Rebecka Blomqvist’s shot from a tight angle remained the best chance (51′).

Even though Eintracht had a clear advantage on the field and really established themselves in the opponent’s half, not enough was achieved. BK Häcken fought and defended its lead passionately, coach Niko Arnautis’ team didn’t come up with enough overall. So the exit from the European Cup was painful, but logical.
