Noah Schnapp shows his friend on Instagram for the first time – but his identity remains secret. The Stranger Things star has been in a relationship for a month.
Noah Schnapp is taken. The actor, known for his role as Will Byers in the series Stranger Things, made his relationship public. He posted a story about his new friend on Instagram on April 1st. He wrote “One month of us” and a heart emoji. The 21-year-old has been in the relationship for a month.
In the picture, the actor can be seen leaning his head on his partner’s shoulder with an arm wrapped around him. The mysterious friend has both arms wrapped around Schnapp’s shoulders. However, his new partner is not really visible. The actor is probably keeping his identity a little secret.
Some fans suspect it was an April Fool’s joke. However, the argument against this is that the actor would probably have clarified the matter a day later.
Coming out via TikTok
The 21-year-old came out in January 2023 – at the age of 18, with the help of a TikTok. In the caption he wrote: “I guess I’m more similar to Will than I thought.” His character from “Stranger Things” had come out as gay about six months earlier. Schnapp also said that the role of Will Byers helped him a lot to accept his own sexuality.
The character comes out in the fifth and final season. In an interview with Variety, Noah Schnapp admitted that the coming out scene brought him to tears. The shoot was very emotional for him – Schnapp also drew on his own coming out experience.
Before his public coming out, he had of course already admitted his sexuality to his family and friends. He wrote: “When I finally told my friends and family that I was gay after being afraid to come out for 18 years, they just said, ‘We already know that.'”
First public relationship
So now he has found love and has gone public with it. It is the first relationship that the actor shows his fans – although the identity of his partner remains secret for the time being. Previously, Schnapp had simply said that he wasn’t actively dating because he was busy, but that he would be open to it if the right person came along. Now he has apparently found exactly that person.
