“Victims of phishing must be reimbursed within 24 hours”: Vooruit increases pressure on banks with new bill

Vooruit wants all victims of phishing to be reimbursed by their bank within 24 hours. Member of Parliament Jeroen Soete has prepared a bill that will ensure that banks can no longer systematically blame their customers for phishing. “Banks today accuse customers of gross negligence, which means that barely 8% get their money back. Even though the banks made 8 billion euros in profit last year. That is unacceptable.”
