Argentine politics has shown, once again, that scandals do not break out from one day to the next: they are built. And in the case of Manuel Adornithe judicial and political front that surrounds it today seems to have reached a boiling point where general explanations or appeals to the official story are no longer enough.
The Chief of Staff must respond about 5,000 questions in Congressmany of them focused on the evolution of their assets, trips that are not entirely clear and real estate transactions that, at the very least, arouse suspicion. But in this framework a figure appears that begins to acquire its own weight: the scribe Adriana Monica Nechevenko .
This is not only a professional who intervened in key operations – such as the purchase of the apartment in Caballito or a property in the Indio Cuá country – but also someone who, according to official records, entered the Casa Rosada at least seven times to meet with the man himself. Adorni . In any administration, that level of access would already be striking. In the midst of an investigation for alleged illicit enrichment, it is directly a political fact.
In fact, these entries are not a statistical abstraction but rather specific visits, with verifiable dates. Official records show Nechevenko entering Pink House on August 19, 2024, linked to the spokesperson area; again on October 7, 2024, also in the circuit of meetings linked to that same environment; and again on December 26, 2024, in meetings that connect it with the Government’s communication core. The reiteration, at different times of the year, reinforces the hypothesis of a sustained and not circumstantial link.
The operation under the magnifying glass is, in itself, unusual: A property originally valued at 340 thousand dollars was acquired for 230 thousandwith a “personal” mortgage of 200 thousand dollars granted by the sellers themselves, two retirees who claim not to know the official. The mechanism—almost total financing by unknown parties—is what set off alarms in the Justice Department and in the opposition. But the focus is no longer only on Adorni. He starts running towards the middlemen. And that’s where Nechevenko becomes central.
Research sources maintain that the notary would not be an isolated figure but rather part of a broader circuit, with links that would exceed this specific case. According to these same versions, she would have previously worked with national officials and would have been “recommended,” precisely because of her expertise in complex real estate operations, especially in purchase and sale schemes with atypical financial structures.
That data is not minor. Because if the operation was designed—and not simply circumstantial—the axis of the investigation could shift from the patrimonial explanation toward the possible existence of a more systematic mechanism.

In this context of growing pressure, the Government seeks to send political signals of support. This same day, the president Javier Milei received Adorni at the Olivos Residence, where both reviewed the legislative agenda and outlined the second stage of management, with projections towards 2026/2027. As officially reported, the Chief of Staff will begin a round of meetings with ministers — which will begin on April 6 with Security, continue on the 7th with Health and on the 8th with Defense — with the aim of organizing the planning of each portfolio. The photo and the message are not coincidental: they aim to defuse, at least in the short term, the rumors of an imminent resignation.
The political problem for the Government is twofold. On the one hand, Adorni He is not just another official: he is a central figure in the communication scheme and one of the most visible faces of the ruling party. On the other hand, the case hits a sensitive point for an administration that made “caste” and transparency one of its discursive pillars.
The summons of Nechevenko as a witness for the federal prosecutor Gerardo Pollicita confirms that Justice also understands that its role is not accessory. It is not only investigated what was bought, but also how it was bought and who designed that architecture.

Meanwhile, the ruling party tries to lower its tone, suspends conferences and takes refuge in the closed defense of the official. Adornifor his part, insists that his assets are the result of years of private activity and that everything will be clarified in court. But the political damage has already been done.
Because in politics, technical explanations are rarely enough when the images are too powerful: a notary who enters the Casa Rosada seven times, retirees who finance millions without knowing each other, and properties that appear—and disappear—from the statements.
The scandal, in short, does not lie only in the possible irregularity, but in the accumulation of evidence that builds a narrative that is difficult to dismantle.
And in that story, the figure of Nechevenko It is no longer an administrative detail: it is the piece that could explain whether we are facing an isolated operation or something deeper.
Justice will begin to answer it. But politics has already taken note.
