Andreas Mitter is the new national coach of the German ski jumpers. He succeeds Stefan Horngacher.
Horngacher resigned from his position at the end of the season after seven years of service. Mitter, a qualified trainer from Austria, has worked alongside Horngacher as an assistant coach for the past three years. Before that, Mitter worked as head coach in Finland and in the ÖSV.
“I’m really looking forward to my new role in the German Ski Association and would like to contribute my know-how and experience as a long-time trainer”Mitter said: “Together with my coaching colleagues, we want to provide new impetus in the training work in order to develop the team’s potential in the best possible way. In addition, the trainers of all course groups in the DSV need to focus on content for a long-term and positive development for ski jumping in Germany.”
Jens Deimel and Tino Haase complete the coaching team
In addition to coach Paul Winter from the Zoll ski team, two very experienced trainers, Jens Deimel and Tino Haase, are returning to the team for course group 1a. Both were already responsible during the Werner Schuster era and most recently looked after athletes in the B and C squads of the DSV.
“Andreas Mitter began his coaching career in Germany as a ski club coach in Garmisch-Patenkirchen 20 years ago and has since done very good work as a ski jumping coach in various teams. Andreas therefore knows the ski jumping system in Germany in all its facets. He has earned a very high level of appreciation both in Germany and internationally over the last few years. We trust that Andreas can provide the necessary new impulses with his expertise and high level of commitment.”said sports director World Cup Horst Hüttel.
