Even though the plots on North III have not yet been sold, the municipality expects that there will still be a shortage of 6 to 32 hectares of industrial estate until 2040. “With the business park development of Noord IV, the municipality wants to provide sufficient space for entrepreneurs and contribute to the regional task. In addition, the intended development offers opportunities to work on the extraction of sustainable energy, the water storage task and the generation of employment,” the municipality writes.
The drawings were recently presented to residents in the area. In April, the municipality will hold meetings about the possible arrival of the wind turbines.
After the summer, a plan will be submitted to the municipal council for the development of the business park. Later, a procedure will follow before the municipal council for the wind turbines and the water task of the water board.
The area previously became national news after the French Puy du Fou had plans to build a 60-hectare theme park there. It eventually came to an end. The municipality then set its sights on turning it into an industrial park.
