A coalition of D66, GroenLinks, PvdA and CDA/ChristenUnie is emerging in Tynaarlo. Informant Henk Pijlman (D66) came up with this advice today.

The decision comes as a blow to the current coalition in Tynaarlo, which indicated that it wanted to continue with the same line-up, supplemented by D66.

Pijlman is now putting an end to that, because from conversations he senses “the desire to make a new start”.

“Too much has happened in Tynaarlo’s politics in recent years,” said the informant. He is referring, among other things, to the culture and manners in the municipal council, and the political participation of citizens.

Pijlman therefore puts forward D66, GL, PvdA and CDA/CU as a possible coalition; a combination of three parties that gained ground during the municipal elections, and two parties that have remained the same size.

They sit down to formulate an outline coalition program and then each fill one of the four alderman positions, with the CU supporting an alderman from the CDA.

This seems to put Leefbaar/Gemeentebelangen Tynaarlo to the curb. The party has been part of the coalition for the past four years, but paid the price for this in the municipal elections: a halving of six to three seats. Now a role in the opposition is available.

To reinforce a new political start, the municipal council and residents’ organizations will be given the opportunity to respond to the coalition program, after which the coalition can fine-tune its plans.

“With this advice I try to do justice to the result,” said Pijlman. “I believe that continuity and innovation do the results of the elections the most justice.”
