Czechia defeated Denmark in the 2026 FIFA World Cup play-off final match with a total score of 5-3 as a result of serial penalty shoot-outs. The regular time of the match ended in a 1-1 draw with the goals scored by Czech Republic’s Pavel Sulc in the 3rd minute and Joachim Andersen in the 72nd minute. Czechia took the lead once again with Ladislav Krejci’s goal in the 100th minute of extra time. Denmark brought balance to the match again 1 minute later with Kasper Högh’s goal.
Since there were no more goals in the remaining minutes of extra time, the series started with a penalty shoot-out. Having won 3-1 over Denmark in penalties, Czech Republic became the side that qualified for the 2026 World Cup.
