Birgit Schuurman called Albert Verlinde angry after the statements he made about her in RTL Tonight. She finds it incomprehensible. “I didn’t go to the police myself!”

The abuse case against Ali B is still in full swing. He was convicted in the first instance for, among other things, the attempted rape of Ellen ten Damme during the recording of his former AvroTros show Ali B and the Music Caravan in 2014. Birgit Schuurman was also a guest and she also gave a statement to the police two years ago.

‘Open your mouth!’

Birgit told the police that Ali followed her, pushed her against the wall in the elevator and stuck his tongue in her mouth. She then allegedly pushed him away and told him she didn’t like it, after which she walked away.

An assertive response from Birgit, but she could have come out with that story a little earlier, Albert Verlinde told her last week in RTL Tonight. “It also shows what kind of time we lived in then. It’s all very nice that Birgit Schuurman says that now, but then I think: you should have opened your mouth then! Get it?”

Birgit responds

What a strange reaction, Birgit thinks. She called Albert, he says in the RTL Tonight from yesterday. “She called me the day after the broadcast and I am very old-fashioned, because then you start the conversation. We know each other well.”

Birgit spoke to him admonishingly. “She says: ‘I did not approach the police myself. The police approached me because they were indeed looking for support in Ellen’s case’, and she initially refused, so that is somewhat different than it seems at first glance.”
