Bründl Sports secures Strolz and with it four new locations in Austria.
The Austrian premium sports retailer from Kaprun, southwest of Salzburg, is taking over Strolz with effect from June 1st and with it the stores in Lech and Zürs, Bründl announced on Friday. The sports retailer’s locations will continue to operate under the existing brand even after the takeover.
“With 120 employees, Strolz is one of the most renowned brands in the Alpine sports trade. The combination of high premium product expertise, international customers and regional roots fits Bründl perfectly,” explains Bründl managing director Christoph Bründl.
Bründl takes over operational business
The integration of Strolz into the Bründl Group is to take place gradually from the summer, for which extensive investments are also planned. While Strolz will remain intact, both retailers will benefit from cooperation in areas such as IT, marketing, purchasing, logistics and finance.
The operational business will be managed by Bründl Sports in the future. The previous managing director Olivia Strolz will step down from her role but will remain with the company in an advisory capacity.
“It is a personal concern of mine to secure the future of the Strolz brand in the long term. In the Bründl family, we have found a strong partner who has the same passion for Alpine premium sports retail, represents our values and can further develop the Strolz brand,” says Strolz.
The real estate and the employee houses remain in the possession of the main shareholder Siegfried Wolf. In the future, he will concentrate on projects such as the development of a sports hotel in Lech. “The takeover creates a stable future perspective for the company as well as our employees and new investments for the sports and fashion house,” said Wolf.
